Toastmaster Club!

In my office, we have TMC - Toastmaster Club. This club is an English speaking club formed with a purpose to enhance your English, communication skills and vocabulary. In our office, every week there is a Toastmaster is elected from amongst us who presents an agenda and the rest have to follow.

Off late, TMC meetings were getting boring and monotonous and so we all sat down to discuss how to make it exciting. We figured out certain ways. So this time the agenda was superb!  All of us were given some Bollywood role along with a video wherein the bollywood video would be played in mute mode and we had to enact with the dialogues in English! :D HOWEVER, I was the only one given a dance number :(

There were roles such as kkkk kiran…Jahanpanah and Saleem…Dhanno and Basanti… scenes from the movies “Guru” and “Andaz apna apna” and a lot more!! Everyone was excited about their roles but I was zapped! How will I dance on such a song and that too speak in English?? Bahut nainsaafi hai!

You listen and watch this song once and you will laugh your heart out!


I decided that Boss! This is not happening. So I spent hours searching for another song. I came across really good songs but when I translated them in English, they were sounding weird. I thought of “Chane ke khet mein”…”Kanta Laga”.. “Dhol Baje”..”Salame ishq meri jaan”..but if you google out their English translation..its funny!!

Then finally i chose "Ek do teen" from the movie tezaab. I am a BIG fan of Madhuri Dixit! Her smile, her moves, what a grace! she is one bollywood diva! Whole day I recited the song in English trying to be in the tone of the song as far as possible:

BUT the bad news is I was made to do on the original one only! It was funny! But my boss before starting the TMC had said one thing –“Take your work seriously but don’t take yourself too seriously” and that helped all to just let go and enjoy it!

And I truly believe – one who can laugh at himself/ herself can face any situation :)
