What is our Real Power?

This came to my mind yesterday suddenly. What triggered this inner conversation was a question "What is actually being powerful? " My mother is my inspiration when it comes to power. And this post is a reflection of what she has taught me and what I have learned just by observing her.

Where does our Real Power lie?

The real power is NOT in speaking your thoughts aloud at your own comfort but in restraining your tongue when you really want to blurt it out.

The real power is NOT just in "looking" good and sassy but in "feeling"good about your own self. 

The real power is NOT in controlling others but being in control of your own emotions and actions.

The real power is NOT in accumulating wealth and hefty bank balance but in having a big and compassionate heart.

The real power is NOT in becoming a pro in "giving it back' but in forgiving others (at least in your mind) for your own peace.

The real power is NOT in driving luxury cars but in being the driver of your own thoughts and emotions.

The real power is NOT in how many people listen to you but how good you are as a listener.

The real power is NOT in having a great "designation" but in being a good disciple of your master/divine.

The real power is NOT in bragging about your success but in accepting and learning from your failures.

The real power is NOT in being rigid and sticking to your guns but in being accommodating and adjusting to situations and people.

The real power is NOT how much respect you get from others but in how much love and respect you have for others.

The real power is NOT in running life as you want but in willingly accepting whatever life throws at you.

The real power is NOT in possessing and grabbing but in your ability to let go.

The real power is NOT in winning over the world, but in winning over your own mind.

All this is easier said than done but this is what I understand about real power and my journey is to be more powerful in this context.
